Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the size of the entire facility with the phase-shifting transformer made common by connecting the phase-shifting transformer having 3-phase main windings and more than one set of 3-phase auxiliary windings to the intermediate bus.
CONSTITUTION: The phase-shifting transformer 2 has main windings R1, S1 and T1 in a 3-phase star type connection centered on the center point 0. Each one end of two sets of auxiliary windings S2a/T2b, T2a/R2b and S2b/R2a equal in the number of turn are connected to respective terminals r, s and t for having the main winding connected to the power supply bus while the other ends a1, a2, a3 and b1, b2, b3 are respectively connected to the intermediate buses 3A and 3B. Therefore, if the ratio of the number of turn between the main and auxiliary windings is selected so that the angle θ/2 is 7.5°. The voltage obtained from the terminals a1∼a3 advances in the phase by 7.5° with respect to the voltage applied to the terminals r, s and t while that from the terminals b1∼b3 lags by 7.5° in the phase, which means that the phase difference between the buses 3A and 3B is 15°. Thus, multi (24) pulse rectifying type converter can be constructed as a whole thereby reducing the size of the entire facility.
