945,811. Rectifying. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Jan. 4, 1961, No. 374/61. Heading H2F. A polyphase rectifying arrangement comprises an even number of A.C. windings 1 ... 6 arranged to operate with equal phase displacement between them connected together at a neutral point and feeding a bridge connection of semiconductor rectifying elements, the bridge arms associated with one of the D.C. terminals being connected with a series interphase winding. As shown each of the elements 7 1 , 72 ... 7 6 are connected in series with individual interphase windings 9 1 , 9 2 , &c. In a further embodiment a single centre-tapped interphase winding is used, the centre tap being connected to the D.C. terminal and the two ends being connected to the common connections of the rectifiers 7 1 , 7 3 , 7 5 and 7 2 , 7 4 , 7 6 respectively. The arrangement ensures that each of the rectifiers 7 1 ... 7 6 conducts for 120 degrees of a cycle and so gives a smoothed output.
