Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a internal combustion engine of small-size, light-weight and high power by a construction wherein the inside of an annular cylinder body is provided with a piston which can freely make a circular reciprocating motion in the foreward as well as reverse direction and a plural number of combustion chambers are formed between the salient parts of the piston and the partition walls to make a piston inversion-type internal combustion engine.
CONSTITUTION: The openings respectively formed on the opposed parts of the fringe wall of an annular cylinder body 1 are provided with partition walls 2, 3 and the intake-and-exhaust ports 4W7, 4'W7' respectively formed by a pair between said partition walls and the openings inner walls of the cylinder body 1 are provided with intake valves 8W11 and exhaust valves 8'W11. A piston 13 is attached to a power shaft 14, which penetrates the center part of the body 1, in the art that it can make a circular motion in the regular as well as reverse direction, the outermost peripheral surface of the piston 13a is movably contacted with the body internal peripheral surface 1a and also the small diameter external peripheral surface 13b is movably contacted with the salient surfaces 2a, 3a inside the partition wall. And the partition walls 2, 3 and the salient parts 13c, 13d of the piston 13 form combustion chambers 15W18 and the compressed fuel-air mixture in each combustion chamber is ignited with sparking plugs 20W23.
