Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate unnecessary inspection and maintenance by functioning a protector for compressor only when abnormalities are detected at two points in refrigerating circuit thus detecting accurately the case where there is insufficient refrigerant in refrigerating circuit.
CONSTITUTION: First switch 15 closing at max. opening of expansion valve 9 and second switch 16 closing when the pressure at exit side of expansion valve 9 or in the evaporator 10 lowered below setting level are connected in series to constitute circuit A for shortening the exciting circuit. When there is necessary amount of refrigerant in refrigerating circuit under various states of compressor 2, the short circuit A never conducts but when there is insufficient refrigerant said circuit A conducts. Consequently fuse 5 blows off to interrupt the exciting circuit for electromagnetic clutch 3 thus to stop the operation of compressor 2.
