Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent corrosion of copper alloy parts of a multistage flash type sea water desalination apparatus or the like and absorption of H2 in Ti (alloy) parts by attaching a sacrificial anode made of alloy steel of a specified C content to one of the copper alloy parts and allowing each of the parts to act as cathode of restricted potential.
CONSTITUTION: Sacrificial anode 22 is attached to water chamber 24 of a multistage flash type sea water desalination apparatus which chamber 24 is provided with tube sheet 5 fitted with heat exchanger tubes 4, and degassed sea water inlet and outlet 23. Each of the parts is allowed to act as cathode, and the potential of the cathode portion is held at -0.5W-0.65V on the basis of satd. calomel electrode. Electrode 22 is made of alloy steel contg. C≤0.06, pref. ≤0.02, esp. ≤0.01% or C≤0.1% and Al≤2%. By this method galvanic corrosion of Cu alloy parts can be prevented simply, and absorption of H2 in Ti (alloy) parts can be controlled to an almost satisfactory level.
