Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect thyristor's turn off failure, turn off the thyristor and then enable it to resume proper operation, by operating a switch circuit by means of two resistors which divide anode voltage of the thyristor. CONSTITUTION:In a condition in which the potential, which is obtained by a division of an SCR's anode voltage by resistors R9 and R8, keeps a transistor Tr3 ON, Tr2 is ON and Tr1 is OFF, and potential of an inverter control output is equal to that of V<+>, and inverter 1 is in oscillation. When the SCR became ON, Tr3 becomes OFF, and therefore, base potential of Tr2 is raised to the level of V<+> and becomes OFF to stop the inverter. Now, when ignition time completed and the SCR is turned OFF, Tr3 is turned ON by residual charge and the inverter resumes oscillation. By using this mechanism, it becomes possible to detect occurrence of SCR TURN-OFF failure, turn the SCR properly, and therefore, it is possible to ensure a smooth operation of an engine.
