Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain fluorescent display tube which gives a highly luminous red light by excitation by low-speed electron beams and is useful for various measuring devices by forming a luminous layer endowed with electric conductivity by mixing appropriate amounts of a stannic oxide condictive material and europium-activated fluorescent substance.
CONSTITUTION: At least one europium-activated fluorescent substance selected from europium-activated yttrium-lanthanum-gadolinium oxide fluorescent substance [(Y1-x-yLaxGdy)2O3:Eu (0≤x≤1, 0≤y≤1 and x+y≤1)], europoum-activated yttrium-lanthanum-gadolinium oxysulfide fluorescent substance [(Y1-x-yLaxGdy)2 O2S:Eu (x and y are in the same relationship as in the previous one)], and europium-activated yttrium-lanthanum-gadolinium vanadate fluorescent substance [(Y1-x-yLaxGdyVO4:Eu (x and y are in the same relationship as in the previous one)] and a stannic oxide conductive material are mixed in a proportion of 14:1W 1:14 by weight to obtain a luminou material which serves as the luminous layer of fluorescent display tube.
