Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a ground surface for painting having uniform chemically converted coating, by washing a body to be treated such as a motorcar body while vibrating the phosphate soln. at the inlet part of a treating tank, or if necessary, while spraying the soln. or water, and in addn., by agitating and circulating the soln. contained in the tank so as to conduct immersion treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A soln. of phosphate is admitted into a treating tank 1 and an overflow tank 3, then the soln. in the overflow tank 3 is sprayed through a heat exchanger 16, risers 32 by means of a pump 3 into the tank 1, and is circulated from the tank 1 to the tank 3. When the soln. is heated to a prescribed temp., the soln. is sprayed through risers 33W36. On the other hand a body A to be treated is led into the tank 1 by means of a conveying machine 37 and chemical treatment is started. The surface of the soln. at the inlet portion of the tank 1 is stirred and vibrated by the treating soln. or water which is sprayed through risers. Hereby, unitform, chemically converted coating is obtained without forming stepped chemical treatment irregularity which is formed by conventional methods when the body A to be treated is admitted into the soln.
