Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a dust collector which works in a healthily safe manner with the generation of much lesser amounts of ozone without damaging apparatus by heating the corona discharge pole where corona discharge is made in the corona charging part.
CONSTITUTION: The plate counter electrode groups 2, 2'... are vertically supported by insulating support frames, and the wire-like corona discharge electrode groups 5, 5'..., supported and laid by the heat-resistant supporters 3 and the dead weights 4, are provided between the plate counter electrode groups, in which the discharge electrodes 5 are connected in series by the conductors 7 and 8 leading to A.C. power source from which current is supplied for heating. Upon heating, negative corona discharge occurs from the heated wire-like corona discharge electrode groups 5, 5'... to the counter electrode groups 2, 2'..., whereby ample negative ions can be supplied with the generation of much lesser amounts of ozone to charge dust particles in gas passing through the both electrode groups.
