Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease of dust collecting efficiency by adding electrically negative gas from a smoke inlet duct into an electric dust collector to control discharge electric current. CONSTITUTION:As the exhaust gas absorbed into an electric dust collector 1 from a smoke inlet duct 4 is more than 300 deg.C hot, electrically negative gas is added through a nozzle 7. Sulfur hexafluoride or ammonia etc. are used for negative gas. Gas of sulfur hexafluoride or ammonia has large electron lyophilicity, drawing to itself the ion gnereated through corona discharge, lowering the ion mobility, regulating corona discharge; thus spark voltage is increased. This method controls the frequent occurrences of spark discharge and prevents the lowering of dust collecting efficiency.
