Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to detect a leakage of sea water in an early stage and to effect prompt countermeasures and dealings therewith by providing on an intermediate portion of a guide tube, guiding condensed water condensed at condensor tubes into a storing portion thereof, with a conductivity meter for liquid, and detecting leakage by an output thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A cooling-water system 1 is incorporated into an installation for a nuclear power station or the like, and sea water is flown therethrough as a cooling liquid, while a condenser 2, wherein a steam passageway 4 is formed within a casing 3, is interposed at an intermediate portion thereof. Bundle-like groups of multiple condenser tubes 5 are installed so as to cross the steam passage-way 4, and the steam is condensed by flowing sea water within respective tubes 5 through respective isolating valves 7. Condensed water is stored as stored condensed water 10 after running down through collecting troughes 11 and guide tubes 12. In this case, a chamber 13 and a three-way valve 14 are provided on an intermediate portion of a guide tube 12 while a conductivity meter 15 detecting a conductivity of a liquid is provided within the chamber 13. Outputs of the conductivity meter 15 is sent to an indicator 16 or to a recorder 17 recording it continuously.
