Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the stabilization of detection of oil leakage and the improvement in sensitivity by flowing water between the outer pipe and inner pipe of an oil transport pipe having a double constrction and detecting the oil having leaked in the water with the detectors installed at a fixed interval to the pipeline.
CONSTITUTION: An outer pipe 2 which hermetically seals an inner pipe 1 is provided on the outside of the inner pipe 1 for transporting specified fluid. At every constant interval of this pipeline, a partition wall 3 which cuts off the spacing 4 between the inner pipe 1 and outer pipe 2 is provided. Between the adjoining spacing parts 4 are communicated by a bypass pipe 5. a leakage detector 6 is provided to the bypass pipe 5. Water is flowed at all times or within a fixed time in the spacing part 4 if oil leaks as the inner pipe bursts, the leaking oil is carried in the water and is detected with the leakage oil detector 6. In this way, the detection of oil leakage is sure and is accomplished with good sensitivity.
