The sodium is intrudes into between the sleeves 9, 11 and a bellows 13 and the sleeves 9, 11 prevent the exertion of the direct influence of the sodium upon the bellows 13. Argon gas is circulating in the closed circuit formed of an annular space 15, a sample pipe 25, detectors 21, 23 and a return pipe 27. When failure occurs in the bellows 13, the sodium leaks into the space 15, and the leaked sodium is conveyed by the argon gas to a detector 23, by which it is detected. Similarly, when a bellows 17 ruptures, the air leaks into the space 15, and oxygen, that is, the air is detected by a detector 21.
