Abstract

PURPOSE: To give efficient cooling on the basis of boil-cooling of refrigerant by using a boil-cooling refrigerant for the continuous cooling of an extruded insulated cable.
CONSTITUTION: Boil-cooling refrigerant 8 is contained in a cooling vessel 11 of a continuous cooling system 7 for insulated cable, and a cable 4 is passed and boil- cooled through a boil-cooling part 9 by the refrigerant 8. Sealing parts 10 are provided to prevent the leakage of refrigerant 8 to the outside through penetrated parts of the cable 4 in the cooling vessel 11 of the boil-cooling part 9. These sealing parts 10 are arranged in several stages along the passing line of the cable 4 to be provided with sealing materials 151W154 to seal penetrated parts of the cable 4 and a collecting pipe 4 and a collecting pipe 18 and collecting pump 19 to collect leaked refrigerant 8 into the cooling vessel 11. Besides, gas-phase refrigerant 8 is again liquefied by a condenser 14 to be returned to the cooling vessel 11. In this construction, efficient cooling can be obtained by the use of latent heat.
