Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the production of high harmonic distortion specific to DC erase for the reproducing signal, by superimposing the DC current demagnetizing the magnetism remained on the recording media with DC erase on the recoding current to feed the result to the reocording head. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic recording and reproducing unit consists of the DC electromagnet type erase head 2 and the recording head 6, and the recording head 6 is made up of the head core 7 of ring shape a part of which is lost, heat winding 8 wound on the core 7, recording power supply 9 and DC power supply 10 superimposing DC current on the recording current. In performing DC erase with the erase head 2, unidirectional magnetization is remained on the recording media 1. When a signal is recorded on the recording media 1 with the recording head 6, since the DC current demagnetizing the unidirectional magnetism remained regardless of DC erase is superimposed on the recording current, no effect of DC erase is appeared on the magnetization on the recording media 1. Accordingly, harmonic distortion specific to DC erase is avoided for the reproducing signal.
