Abstract
794,976. Magnetic recording and reproducing heads. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 25, 1956 [May 3, 1955], No. 12731/55. Class 40 (2). A multi-track magnetic transducing head having a plurality of magnetic cores, has at least one portion of each core reduced in thickness around which portion an inductive winding is arranged. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, the reduced portions form tongued ends 5 of the halves 1, 2, 3, 4 of the cores which meet together within the windings 16, 17. In another embodiment, one half 25 only of each core is reduced in thickness midway along its length, as shown at 30, Fig. 5b, and these portions with coils wound thereon are arranged in diametrically opposed relation when assembled between non-magnetic clamps 33, 35.
