Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately obtain the alignment for entire the roll group, by converting the coordinates of each roll at the coordinate system determined with the shape of instrument into specific coordinate system, through the use of the instrument and operation unit which can be passed through the roll cavity.
CONSTITUTION: The cross point between the extended surface forward to the reference circular arc of the instrument MD and extension line forward to the measuring means 25 or guide member 24 is taken as an origin O, and the striaght line toward the center of reference circular arc 23 Po in the plane orthoronal to the reference circular arc plane 23 including the measurement means 25 from the origin O is taken as yo axis and the axis orthogonal to it is taken as xo axis.
