Abstract

PURPOSE:To avert multiplication and cumulation of measurement errors and to make measurement with high accuracy possible in measuring the positions of individual rolls by so arranging the device that the influence of the measured values for adjacent rolls is not received at the time of connecting the respective measured values on the basis of a specific direction. CONSTITUTION:A roll alignment measuring device is provided with a curved case 2 passing between roll groups 21, 22 constituting a curved type continuous casting machine, guide means 5 curved in conformity with the case 2, gap sensors 11, 12 detecting the spacing distance from the rolls under guidance by the means 5, a length measuring means 10 obtaining pertinent position information in the gap sensor position, an angle detector 8 detecting angles to the prescribed direction of the measuring means and an arithmetic device 18 calculating roll alignment in accordance with the detected results of the gap sensors, the length measuring means and the angle detecting means. Hence, the data on the adjacent rolls are on the basis of a perpendicular direction and do not receive the errors of the data between the other rolls measured previously.
