Abstract

PURPOSE:To precisely and rapidly measure the configuration of a blade of water wheels by a method wherein a sensor is moved along the curved surface on the inspection surface and thus obtained coordinate values are input to a display so as to indicate the actual profile and the design profile of the curved surface. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 36 attached at the end of a second arm 37 of a device for measuring the 3-dimensional curved surface is moved along the 3-dimensional curved surface of a runner 3a or so. Detection signals from first and second angular detectors 34, 41 are input to a calculator 50 so as to calculate coordinates of the sensor 36 on the inspection surface. Then, all of thus calculated value signals are input to a display 91 to indicate the actual profile given by an intersecting line between the curved surface and the inspection surface, and at the same time signals from the profile on design are also input to the display 91 via a graphic processing unit to indicate the design profile.
