PURPOSE: To stop return flow by speedily closing a control valve at the time of deceleration, by opening or closing a control valve which recirculates a part of exhaust gas to a suction system by means of a different negative pressure at the suction pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas recycle path 7, which connects suction and discharge pipes 4 and 6 of engine 1, is provided with control valve 12. This valve 12 has No.1 diaphragm 12 and No.2 diaphragm 16, which is placed in inner case 15 fixed in the center of No.1 diaphragm 12. The intake negative pressure of the upper stream immediate above stop valve 3 is drawn into No.1 chamber 14, which is partitioned by both diaphragms 12 and 16. The intake negative pressure of the lower stream immediately below stop valve 3 is drawn into No.2 chamber 17, and air is drawn into No.3 chamber 18.
