Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a head with high durability and at a low cost by tightly joining more than one metal sheets making up the ink feed chamber, the compression chamber, and the nozzle or the like. CONSTITUTION:In the head of an ink jet printer designed to print by injecting ink particles to the spot only required on the recording paper, a metal base plate 10 is wrought by corrosion or other method into concaves for an ink feed chamber 11, a compression chamber 12, an ink jet nozzle 13 and an ink passage 14. An upper plate 21 similarly produced is laid on the base plate as lower plate and then, heat and pressure are applied on the assembly so that they are tightly joined together through an adhesion by molecular diffusion. This can produce a head with a high durability and at a low cost. In addition, since the joining is possible without damage to the nozzle, function of the nozzle can be made higher in the density.
