Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance head reliability and make the head smaller in size and lower in cost by superposing plural plates having been formed with cavities, channels, nozzles, etc. through Au and Sn plating, heating the assembly and performing Au- Sn eutectic soldering. CONSTITUTION:When a lower substrate 11 and upper substrate 21 having been subjected to Au and Sn plating are superposed and the entire part is heated to, e.g., 400 deg. to 500 deg.C, the Au and Sn plating portions melt, thus creating firm Au-Sn eutectic. Thereby, the upper and lower substrates 11, 21 are perfectly bonded and the spaces for internal ink chambers, nozzles, etc. are formed by the portions encircled by the Au and Sn plating. A hole 22 for supplying ink into the internal ink chamber 14 is opened in the upper plate 21. Piezoelectric vibrators 24 are secured right above the ink chambers 13. This manufacturing method is suited for the manufacture of multinozzle injection heads, enabling the heads of lower cost and higher reliability to be manufactured.
