Abstract
PURPOSE:To heighten the utilization efficiency of CaC2 at the time of carrying out desulfurization reaction and to make slag removing after desulfurization treatment easy, by blowing CaC2 together with carrier gas after blowing an annex mainly composed of quicklime or/and calcined dolomite and carbon on the surface of molten pig iron. CONSTITUTION:CaO or/and calcined dolomite and carbon, are blown together with N2 gas (carrier gas) in molten pig iron floating molten slag through the lance pipe. As a result of it, carbon is dispersed in the slag surface of the molten pig iron is covered by produced massive slag having 200mm or less of grain diameter. Next, desulfurizing agent mainly composed of granular CaC2, is blown into the molten pig iron together with N2 gas. Hereby, unreacted CaC2 is rolled in the molten pig iron again by the action of the above solid matter and is contacted with the molten pig iron even after floating on the surface of the molten pig iron and then, is contributed to desulfurizing reaction. Also, atmosphere on the surface of the molten pig iron is maintained at non-oxidative stage by the carbon covering a greater part of the surface of the molten pig iron and oxidation of CaC2 blowing in next, is repressed.
