Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a turbo-supercharged engine, in which a passage for recirculating exhaust gas in low- and medium-load region is also used as passage for feeding supercharged air to the exhaust system in high-load region and at the time of rapidly decelerating the engine, whereby it is enabled to simplify the entire structure of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: One end of exhaust gas recirculating passage 17 is connected to a port 18 which is located slightly upstreams of the position of throttle valve 10 occupied by the same when it is closed, and a check valve 24 is provided in the passage 17. Since negative pressure at port 18 is lower than the exhaust pressure in exhaust passage 16 when engine load is low and medium, exhaust gas is recirculated to the intake system via orifice 25. On the other hand, since supercharging pressure becomes high in high-load region, a portion of supercharged air flows into exhaust passage 16 via orifice 25 and serves as secondary air. Further, at the time of rapidly decelerating the engine, supercharging pressure is increased rapidly although amount of exhaust gas is decreased considerably. By the supercharing pressure thus raised, check valve 24 is opened so that supercharged air flows into exhaust passage 16. Therefore, it is prevented that supercharging pressure is increased extraordinarily.
