Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the exhaust gas recirculation properly and positively so that EGR can be constant independent from the influence of the engine speed and the load.
CONSTITUTION: The EGR valve 7 interposed in the course of an exhaust gas recirculation passageway 6 is constituted with a valve part 7a and an operation part 7b respensive to the vacuum. The valve part 7a has a valve box 9 comprising a half part 9a having a valve opening 11 and the other half part 9b having a ventilation opening 12. The valve opening 11 and a valve 13 constitute an opening and closing throttle valve V1 and the ventilation opening 12 and a throttle mamber 14 constitute an auxiliary throttle valve V2. The valve 13 and throttle 14 are interconnected integrally and further connected to the operation part 7b. In the operation, when the throttle valve V1 opens at a small angle, the throttle member 14 is to enter the ventilation opening 12. Thus, an excessive increase of EGR volume can be prevented at the throttle valve V1 opening at a small angle.
