Abstract

PURPOSE: To equalize the air/fuel ratio in the cylinders for an engine with a suction device having a throttle valve and a control valve at first suction air passage in a main carburetor by opening an air supply port at the downstream of the control valve and connecting first and second air intake passage through a balance passage.
CONSTITUTION: A suction device having a first suction air passage 6 including a main carburetor 7 containing a throttle valve 8 and a fully closed control valve 9, and a second suction air passage 11 including a sub carburetor 12 containing a sub throttle valve 13 opened or closed via the control valve 9 through a shaft 14 fully closes the control valve 9 and the sub throttle valve 13 in low load range. This closure of the suction device is not complete due to machining error to apprehend a danger of excessively dense air/fuel mixture ratio. Accordingly, an air supply port 32 is opened in the vicinity of the control valve 9 at the downstream of the control vlave 9, and the first air intake passage 6 is communciated through a balance passage 28 provided with a spacer 27 with the second air intake passage 11 to thereby accelerate the evaporation of fuel and equalize the air-fuel ratio in the cylinders.
