Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the drop of negative pressure, at the separation process for the scum, etc., being sucked from the surface of molten metal, by arranging the solution tank communicating to the negative pressure chamber following to the sucking device, and the impeller at the communication passage to the negative pressure chamber.
CONSTITUTION: When the high temperature sucked air stream including the scum, water, and steam, flows into the negative pressure chamber 1 through the inlet port 3, the sucked air stream is decelerated with increase of sectional area of the passage, and only the steam and air of light specific gravity are sucked into the communicating port 2. The scum is separated from water and drops into the discharge port 4, and is discharged into the solution tank 5 by the centrifugal action of the impeller 6 without breaking the negative pressure of the negative pressure chamber 1. The air bubble and steam generated by the boiling of water in the solution tank 5, are transported far away from the impeller 6, by the fast jet stream of water injected from nozzles 18, 19, installed above and below the impeller 6. Accordingly, the air bubble, water, steam, etc., do not flow from the impeller 6 back into the negative pressure chamber 1, so that the drop of negative pressure of the negative pressure chamber 1 is prevented.
