Abstract

PURPOSE: To let the high temperature scum separated in other chamber be discharged without contacting cooling water and prevent the decrease in suction power by providing cooling nozzles and a suction port in the upper part of the solid packed layer of one chamber partitioned by a perforated plate and providing a discharge port in the lower part.
CONSTITUTION: Suction gas flow containing scum, water and steam flows into the space 16 under the partition plate 2 of a chamber 1 through a suction material influent path 9. Its velocity decreases owing to an increase in the channel section and the scum and water of heavier specific gravities separate and fall into a suction material discharge path 12. Then, the scum and water are discharged into a water vessel 10 while the entry of water in the water vessel 10 is being prevented by the centrifugal action of an impeller 13. On the other hand, the suction gas flow containing steam in the space 16 rises to a suction communicating port 16 and passes through the vent holes of the partition plate 2 and the solid packed layer 4. At this time, it is condensed by the cooling water of water spray nozzles 7b and the condensate is discharged to outside the chamber 1 through discharge port 8, whereby the condensate and cooling water are prevented from falling to the space 16 and suction material discharge path 12.
