Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform the title coating with high productivity by putting two glass plates on top of each other with sides to be coated outside; coating the joint with a resin which will disappear on heating; dipping the resulting glass body in a transparent coloring soln. to coat the outside with the soln; heating the coated body to allow the resin to disappear; and baking the soln. CONSTITUTION:Glass plates 1, 2 of the same shape and size are put on top of each other with sides to be coated outside, and using a brush the periphery of the joint is coated with a resin which will sublimation-disappear on heating, thus sealing 3 the insides of plates 1, 2. The resin includes an acrylic thermosetting resin consisting of 100 pts. wt. of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate polymer and 50 pts. wt. of hexamethoxymethyl melamine. The resulting glass body is then dipped in transparent coloring soln. 6 in bath 5, colored, dried, and heated at 450-500 deg.C to allow the resin to sublimation-disappear. The plates are separated and heated to 600- 700 deg.C to bake the soln. on the plate surfaces. Thus, products are obtd. with high productivity without requiring masking film sticking operation, etc.
