Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently form a drive shaft, by first burying metallic pipes weldable with yoke ends on both ends of a drive shaft and then forming the shaft simultaneously.
CONSTITUTION: Metallic pipes 1, 1' are put on portions which are to be both ends of a drive shaft on a mandrel 3 and another set of metallic pipes 1, 1' are also set in like manner. Reinforced fiber such as glassfiber and carbon fiber is wound on the pipes and mandrel and heated as occasion needs to harden the matrix resin and bond the pipes simultaneously. After the resin is hardened, the mandrel is pulled out to get a drive shaft with a length of L.
