Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a composite pipe improved in strength, productivity, and economical efficiency, by a method wherein a tentative composite pipe, consisting of an inner layer and an intermediate layer, having an inserting port and a receiving port is previously formed, and plastic resin-impregnated glass fiber is wound around the tentative composite pipes which are mutually mated together.
CONSTITUTION: Synthetic resin liquid-impregnated weft glass fiber 71 is wound to a given thickness around a rotating mandrel 5, rolls squeezing out resin liquid impregnated in the fiber 71 to form an inner layer. The work is then transferred to an intermediate layer-forming device where a resin mortar is wound around an outer circumferential surface of the inner layer 2, air at the inside being discharged by the pressure produced by the rolls. The work is then hardened in a hardening furnace to form an intermediate layer 3. The mandrel is then pulled out, an inserting portion 141 and a receiving portion 142 being formed by means of collars 61 and 62 situated at both ends. The resultant pipes are then mated together by the use of the inserting portions 141 and the receiving portions 142, being transferred to an outer layer forming device where a synthetic resin liquid-impregnated warp glass fiber 72 and a resin-impregnated weft glass fiber 73 are wound around said pipe, the synthetic resin liquid being hardened to produce a composite pipe 1.
