Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the insulation characteristic, electrical and physical durability, adhesiveness to photoconductive layer, etc. of an insulation layer by dipping a member having a substrate and photoconductive layer in the coating which contains photosetting type synthetic resin then pulling it up and subjecting the same to ultraviolet ray setting treatment.
CONSTITUTION: After a member having a substrate and photoconductive layer is dipped in the coating which contains photosetting type synthetic resin, it is pulled up. Next, powerful ultraviolet rays are radiated to this member and this causes the photosetting type resin to set and react instantaneously. This reaction will not progress further by the slight light incessantly radiated during the repeated use and heat and corona discharge in the copying machine. Hence, the dielectric constant of the insulation layer hardly changes; moreover, crosslinking density is high in the photosetting type resin and therefore the dielectric strength as the insulation layer and surface corona degradation are far superior to other resins. In addition, the coating is evenly applied and the thickness of the insulation layer may be made to optimum one in compliance with the kinds of the photoconductive layer.
