Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a cell at low cost with a good holding of electrolyte and conductivity, by mixing a carbon black, having a specific apparent specific gravity and specific surfac area, in the anode compound. CONSTITUTION:An anode compound 1 consists of a material, made with a conductive assistant added to manganese dioxide, ammonium chloride, etc., and the conductive assistant is provided with an apparent specific gravity of 0.05-0.07 and a specific surface area of 500-800m<2>/g. For this carbon black, is used a material in the above described range from among by-products obtained in the manufacturing process of water gas by a reaction between coke or hydrocarbon and oxygen or oxygen content gas and steam.
