Abstract
PURPOSE: Not only to reduce the influence to the preceding electrode but also expand the excitation current range, by forming the captioned electromagnets between which the following electrode is placed, by the base part curved to the preceding electrode side, and the tip electrode having a parallel face projecting to the opposed pole.
CONSTITUTION: The captioned electromagnets consist of the iron core 6, the excitation coil 7, and the pole piece 8 which is mounted in a body to the tip of the iron core 6, and the tip side is shaped nearly parallel to the base metal by curving the base part 9 of its piece 8 in the direction of the preceding electrode. By afore-mentioned constitution, most of the magnetic flux is generated from the parallel face 11 of the pole, and a part of the foregoing leaks from around the base part 9 to the opposed part, but the leaking magnetic flux is not generated to above and below the face 11 nor in front. Accordingly, the magnetic flux distribution to the welding line direction is abruptly reduced at the preceding electrode side and is slowly reduced at the opposite side, as shown with the real lines D and E. Namely, by using the aforesaid electromagnets, the influence to the preceding electrode side is reduced, and even if a strong magnetic field is made by adding a larger excitation current, it does not have a bad effect on the welding result.
