Abstract

In the anaerobic contact basin 2, the organic substances included in the waste water 18 react on above stated nitrite or nitrated nitrogen and are decomposed to N2 and CO2 gas. In the aerobic contact basin 1, the nitrification reduces the pH; and in the anaerobic contact basin 2, the denitrification raises the pH; since the adjustment of the pH is hus proceeded, the conventional pH modifier can be made unnecessary.
