Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the suction of most of exhaust particles and raise the durability of an exhaust gas recycling device, by placing the exhaust gas inlet port of a recycling pipe in a position where the diameter of lead compounds and soot becomes large and by opening the exhaust gas inlet port in the same direction as the flow of exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust pipe 6 is fitted with a muffler 7. An intake pipe 4 is fitted with an air cleaner 2, a carburetor 3 and a throttle valve 5. A part of the exhaust gas of an engine 1 is returned from the exhaust pipe 6 to the intake pipe 4 through the recycling pipe 8. The end of the recyling pipe 8 on the exhaust pipe 6 is located in the position where the diameter of lead compounds and soot in the exhaust gas becomes large and the temperature of the exhaust gas is not more than 300°C. The end of the recycling pipe is opened in the same direction as the flow of the exhaust gas. As a result, the particles of increased diameter flow downstream because of their inertia and are hardly sucked into the recycling pipe 8. Therefore, harmful emissions are stably decreased throughout a long time.
