Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Rice hulls containing a part of embryos and albumens, are boiled in a 2W10% aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide for 5W10 minutes, thoroughly washed with water, and dried. The pH of the treated rice hulls is alkaline even after the thorough washing with water owing to the alkali remaining in the embryos and albumens. The product can be fed to cattle as an alkaline feed.
