Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an enteric preparation which is not decomposed by gastric juice and can be absorbed through the intestines, by forming calopeptide which is a peripheral vessel dilating component obtained from an animal of Otariidae family together with an enteric substrate.
CONSTITUTION: Calopeptide which is an effective component obtained from an animal of Otariidae family, a diluent, and a binder, are mixed homogeneously with an enteric substrate (e.g., cellulose acetate phthalate) dissolved in a weakly alkaline aqueous solution, and formed to obtain enteric preparation. Calopeptide is a mixture of amino acids and bioactive peptides obtained by the enzymatic decomposition, etc. of the muscles or guts of the animal of Otariidae family, and has peripheral vessel dilating activity, refreshing activity and skin beautifying activity. Coating of the compound with an enteric substrate prevents the decomposition and deactivation by gastric juice in case of oral administration.
