Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce color change and degradation of efficiency during the service life by using Eu activated Sr, Ca, or Ba-chloro apatite, Ce, Te coactivated yttrium silicate and Eu activated yttrium for the blue-wave range, green-wave range and red-wave range, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: A bivalent Eu activated Sr, Ca or Ba chloroapatite having a luminescence spectrum as shown by a curvel 1 for the blue-wave ranges, Ce, Te coactivated, yttrium silicate having a luminescence spectrum as shown by a cureve 2 for the green-wave range or Sb, Mn activated Ca-phosphate for a part of the range and a trivalent Eu activated yttrium oxide having a luminescence spectrum as shown by a curve 3 for the red-wave range are used as fluorescent substances for the three primary color fluorescent lamp, thus providing a fluorescent lamp having a high luminous efficiency of 80W85lm/w, satisfactory color rendering of Ra 80W85 and less efficiency degradation and less color change during the service life.
