Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the luminous efficiency and to improve the color rendering by adding Mn activated Zn-silicate or a mixture of Mn activated Zn-silicate and Mn activated Ca-halophosphate to a luminous mixture as a filler.
CONSTITUTION: Mn activated Zn-silicate or a mixture of Mn activated Zn-silicate and Sn, Mn activated halophosphate or mixture of Mn activated Zn-silicate and Sb, Mn activated Ca-phosphate is added to a luminous misture consisting of Ce, Tb coactivated yttrium silicate green luminous substance, Eu activated yttrium oxide red luminous substance and divalent Eu activated Sr, Cam Ba chloroapatite as a filler. The Mn activated Zn-silicate serves to prevent reduction of the total luminous flux. Color rendering can be further improved by using a luminous substance having a peak between the wave lengths 540W250nm and having a narrow half amplitude level.
