PURPOSE:To increase the color rendering performance and the luminous efficiency of a fluorescent lamp, and decrease the manufacturing cost of the lamp by using an appropriate phosphor other than a rare-earth-element phosphor as a green and a blue phosphor but not as a red phosphor. CONSTITUTION:As a red phosphor, yttrium oxide phosphor (Y2O3/Eu) activated with europium, a rare-earth-element phosphor, is used. As a green phosphor, strontium halophosphate phosphor[3Sr3(PO4)2.Sr(F,Cl)/Sb,Mn]or (3Sr3(PO4)2 SrF2/Sb,Mn) activated with antimony or manganese is used. As a blue phosphor, strontium pyrophosphate phosphor (Sr2P2O7/Sn) activated with tin is used.
