Abstract

PURPOSE: To make precise flow-rate measurement possible by obtaining linear relation between a velocity of flow and a vortex generation frequency by providing several vortex generating body and detection parts to a passage.
CONSTITUTION: The effective-passage cross section of passage 10 where a measured fluid flows is set to a fixed value. In this passage 10, five vortex generating bodies 11a to 11e, for example, are arranged in line at fixed intervals. Vortex generating body 11 is formed in a shape, e.g. a frustum of a pyramid, so that its sectional diameter perpendicular to the axial center will vary on reference value (d) to the plus and minus sides in sequence. Then, when part of a vortex generated by uppermoststream vortex generating body 11a reaches next vortex generating body 11b, a new vortex is generated synchronizing with it, so that the relation between the velocity of flow and vortex-generation frequency can be counted linearly. For the purpose, each vortex generating body 11 is provided with detector 13, which detects the vortex generation frequency, so that invariablyrecise flow-rate measurement can be arranged on the basis of the frequency.
