Abstract
PURPOSE: The reaction between 1,3-butadiene, oxygen, and acetic acid is effected in the presence of a solid catalyst obtained by adding at least one selected from Sb, As, and Tl to Rh, thus preventing the reduction of the catalytic activity and producing title compound that is used for the starting material of 1,4-butanediol with great advantage.
CONSTITUTION: In the presence of a Rh solid catalyst, the acetoxylation of 1,3- butadiene with oxygen and acetic acid is effected to produce diacetoxybutene, in which the Rh catalyst includes at least one selected from Sb, As, and Tl as the essential component. For example, rhodium acetate, antimony trioxide, arsenic oxide and thallium oxide are employed and the use of activated carbon or silica as a carrier is preferred. Calculated as the elements, the amount of Rh used is 0.5W5 wt%, Sb, As, or Tl is 0.1W5 wt%. Further, the reductive treatment after supporting each component on the carrier increases the catalytic activity.
EFFECT: The elucidation of Rh into the reaction mixture can be inhibited to minimum.
