Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent generation of blowhole in the ingot piece, by hanging down the plural Al lines at the upper portion of the dummy bar head located inside the mold for continuous casting and deoxidizing compulsorily the oxide in the molten steel. CONSTITUTION:Insert the dummy bar head 2 in the mold 1 before starting pouring of continuous casting, and hang plural Al lines 3 on the upper side of the mold. When the molten steel 6 is poured in the mold 1 from the nozzle 5 of the tandish, oxide enters into the molten steel through the rust adhered on the steel materials for cooling of molten steel and for sealing. This oxide reacts to the carbon of molten steel. Then, carbon monoxide is generated and blowholes 8 are formed in the continuous ingot pieces 7 to give damages of the quality. In this case, Al line is deoxidized from the molten steel to prevent the defects of quality described above.
