Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to monitor the optical transmission loss characteristics continuously during resin film processing, by providing the light emitting light source to one end of the optical fiber wound on the drum of the optical fiber processing machine performing resin coating and the photo reception unit at another end.
CONSTITUTION: A hole is made at the center of the shaft of the drum 10 winding the processed optical fiber 1, and the optical fiber 13 mounting the flat convex lens 12 is inserted to one end. Another end of the fiber 13 connected to the fiber 1 at the sprice 14. The light source 15 is provided opposing to the said lens 12. On the other hand, the optical fiber 24 is inserted and fixed to the center hole of the shaft 23 of the winding drum 22, one end of the fiber 24 opposes to the photo detection 25, and another end is connected at the sprice 26 of the fiber 1 of the drum 22. The light received at the said photo detection 25 is recorded at the recorder 30. Thus, measuring light is incident from one drum even when resin coating is processed to the fiber 1, and emitted light is received at another drum, allowing to measure the optical transmission loss continuously.
