Abstract
PURPOSE:To transmit high-contrast sharp images by coating an image transmission line with a light-shielding material except at least the core part of an incidence-side end surface. CONSTITUTION:The incidence-side end surface of an image transmission line 2 except a core part 1 where light is transmitted is coated with a light-shielding material 3. Consequently, the light incident from only the core part 1 at the position of the incidence-side end surface to the inside of the image transmission line 2, so only light incident to each core part 1 at a critical angle and below is transmitted to the emission-side end surface of the image transmission line 2. Therefore, light incident to a clad part 4 is only that incident to the core part 1 at the critical angle or above, and this light leaks out of the image transmission line 2, generating no noise. The light-shielding material may be provided on the emission-side end surface upon occasion. A coating of the light-shielding material is formed by photoetching, etc.
