Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the captioned aluminum core wire formed with a solder layer which is more homogeneous and thicker than that by conventional methods by subsequently arraying a quide die 2, molten solder introducing pipe and drawing die to the axial center of the core wire and drawing the aluminum core wire while giving ultrasonic vibrations thereto.
CONSTITUTION: An aluminum core wire 1 is drawn through the quide die 2, introducting pipe 4 and drawing die 6 aligned to the axial line, during which time molten solder 3 is supplied from a hopper 8 to the introducing pipe 4 and ultrasonic vibrations are given to the molten solder 5 in the introducing pipe 4 by way of an oscillating device 7 and ultrasonic wav3 horn 3. The solder 5 moves in the arrow direction and produces high pressure owing to fluid lubricating action in the introducing part 6a of the die 6 having been set at full angle 10° or under, thereby forming a thick plating layer of uniform thickness and considerably improving the adhesiveness of the solder. In this way, the various troubles occuring in the use of flux in conventional methods are eliminated.
