Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily produce the composite metal wire of which the core will not be cut by drawing by extrusion-coating a coating material on the outside circumference of the core by leaving a space and further reducing the outside diameter of this coating material.
CONSTITUTION: The core 1 fed into a die box 10 is quided by a core bar 11 and is drawn out forward. On the other hand, the coating material 6 is shaped by a core bar 11 and a die 12 and is extruded into a pipe shape by leaving the space S of the size corresponding to the tip thickness of the core bar 11 with the core 1. The coating material 6 extruded into a pipe shape from an extruder 5 is cooled by a cooler 7 and is fed into a press-welding machine 8. The coating material 6 fed into the press-welding roll 13 of the pressure welding machine 8 is reduced by being press- welded by the press-welding roll 13 on its outside diameter, so that the space S between the core 1 and the coating material 6 is buried by the coating material 6 and the core 1 and coating material 6 adhere closely to one piece, whereby the composite metal wire 14 is formed.
