Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a long composite metal pipe of optional diameter with high reliability with ease and high efficiency by a mechanism wherein metal tape of different quality is run continuously along the continuously running metal pipe, forming the tape into a cylinder so as to envelop the pipe, and after the butted portions are continuously welded, the pipe is solid drawn and finished.
CONSTITUTION: Metal tape 2, fed from the feeder 1 is cut at the slitter 5 with a prescribed width via the cleaner 3, formed into a cylinder at the former 8 which is consisted of the forming roller group 6 and the forming die 7, its butted portion being welded by the torch 9, and turned into the metal pipe 10. On the other hand, metal tape 11 of different quality, runs out via cleaner 3', being cut at a prescribed width at the slitter 5, formed into a cylinder enveloping the pipe 10 at the former 8' which is consisted of the forming roller group 6' and forming die 7', and the butted portion is continuously welded by the torch 9', Plug is inserted into the obtained parent metal 15 of the composite metal pipe, and the solid drawn work by drawing plug is continuously performed until the reduction rate at the section area becomes more than 50%.
