Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain light electrodes with large strength which do not generate any cracks and damage in their swirl by applying metal plating on the porous substance consisting of natural or synthetic resin fiber to get electrode bases.
CONSTITUTION: Nickel is electrolessly plated on the porous substances, such as woven and nonwoven fabrics and felt consisting of natural fiber like cellulose fiber and synthetic resin fiber like polyethylene and polypropylene. Then, nickel is electrolytically plated on them. The electrode base obtained in such treatment is filled with the paste mainly consisting of nickel hydroxide powder, impregnated in nickel salt solution, and electrolyzed or dried and alkaline-precipitated.
